What can be searched?

You can use the Patent Lens to search  the full-text of over 8 million patents and applications.  Our data is updated weekly with bulk data obtained through subscriptions with WIPO, USPTO, EPO and IP Australia. Over the last year we have expanded our PCT, US, EPO and Australian coverage to include all classifications.  See complete details of our current coverage. Prior to this expansion, the Patent Lens covered a subset of classifications related to the life sciences.

The Patent Lens  also integrates INPADOC  legal status and patent family information from over 60 countries directly into our search results. This data can help to give an idea whether a patent application related to one of interest was filed in other countries, and possibly whether patents are in force or applications are still pending. Further information on a patent or  application in a particular country of interest (which may have different claims pending or allowed than the parent application, depending on that country's laws) may then be obtainable from that country's patent office.

We plan to include patents and applications from additional jurisdictions. If a jurisdiction of interest to you is not included, you can contact us at  webmaster@patentlens.net, or you could contact the patent office in that jurisdiction directly to suggest that data be provided to the Patent Lens.
